Ryan Seacrest Will Once Again Return To American Idol When The Show Comes Back To TV

By early June of 2017, all signs pointed to Ryan Seacrest being definitively done with American Idol. He had been at the center of the legendary talent competition for its entire fifteen-year run but the long-running show was cancelled in April 2016 by Fox. The following May saw ABC come out as the winner of a bidding competition to be able to bring American Idol back to the airwaves. The interesting thing was that ABC is the same network that had just picked up Ryan Seacrest as the new co-host along with Kelly Ripa on the networks long-running morning talk show that was being rebranded as Live With Kelly and Ryan.

According to Forbes, once it was announced that American Idol would indeed be returning to the air waves, most would automatically assume that Ryan Seacrest’s return to the show would be a given. All that was left to do was to work out the financial details through negotiation. What happened next was not expected as Ryan Seacrest was presented with a lowball type of offer for his services on the show that he was synonymous with. The real fact is that considering the success that Ryan Seacrest was already experiencing with Live With Kelly and Ryan as well as his continued work with his nationally syndicated radio program On Air with Ryan and his heavy involvement in his men’s fashion line Ryan Seacrest Polish/Distinction, it is hard to argue that he really needed the American Idol gig in order to maintain his current level of success. Ryan, a TV host and producer, is also kept busy with his heavy involvement in his philanthropic organization the Ryan Seacrest Foundation that has made a commitment to improving the experience for hospitalized children.

At the end of the day though, the folks behind American Idol were not interested in the thought of going forward without the person most associated with the show and the offer that Ryan Seacrest was initially given was amended accordingly. This served to solidify the fact that Ryan Seacrest will once again grace the airwaves as the host of American Idol.
