Together with her husband, they donate millions of dollars annually to finance philanthropic activities. A greater percentage of these funds are dedicated to supporting education reforms. Other than the family’s foundation, Mrs. DeVos’ commitment has seen her serve as chairperson of Alliance for School Choice as well as the American Federation for Children (AFC). She, together with her husband, serves on the board of numerous institutions and organizations dedicated to education reform. Betsy DeVos’ stellar profile extends beyond championing for education reform. She has led a successful professional career. She is a successful businesswoman who teamed with her husband to found Windquest Group in 1989. In 1993, she joined the leadership of the company as the chairperson, a position she held until 2016. She has also served as board member of several organizations including DeVos Institute for Arts Management and ArtPrize in addition to her various roles in non-profit organizations and institutions dedicated to education reform.She served as board of Philanthropy Roundtable between 2014 and 2016. She is active politically. She served as the chairperson of Great Lakes Education Project between 2001 and 2008 before joining the board of the political action group up to 2016. Betsy DeVoswas recently appointed to the position of Secretary of Education in the current administration government.
